Description

Express Medical Transporters is seeking a Transportation Student Aide to support safe, reliable, and compassionate transport for students, including those with special needs. In this field-based role, you will assist with loading and unloading, secure wheelchairs and mobility devices, and monitor students during rides to and from schools, programs, and community destinations. You’ll collaborate closely with drivers and school staff, uphold strict safety standards, and provide calm, respectful support to each rider, reflecting our culture of service, professionalism, and care.
Assist drivers with safe loading and unloading of students, including those with special needs or mobility challenges
Monitor student behavior and ensure adherence to safety procedures during transport
Provide attentive, compassionate support to riders, responding to needs and concerns in transit
Secure wheelchairs, mobility devices, and safety restraints according to company and regulatory standards
Communicate effectively with drivers, dispatch, school staff, and caregivers regarding student needs or incidents
Complete basic documentation or incident reports as required by company policies
Support timely, efficient routing by preparing students for pickup and drop-off as directed
Maintain a clean, orderly, and respectful vehicle environment
Passenger safety procedures
Wheelchair and mobility device securement
Basic first aid and emergency response awareness
Behavior management and de-escalation
Two-way radio or dispatch communication
Recordkeeping and incident reporting
Customer service and rider support
Time management and punctuality
Knowledge of basic transportation regulations for student riders
