Description
As a Transportation Associate at Hebrew SeniorLife, you will provide safe, reliable rides for older adults across our senior living, skilled nursing, and community programs. You’ll transport residents to medical appointments, therapies, activities, and community outings while ensuring comfort, dignity, and respectful assistance with mobility and boarding. You will complete vehicle safety checks, maintain clean, well-organized vehicles, and follow all traffic and infection-control procedures. Working collaboratively with clinical and support teams, you’ll play a key role in supporting resident independence and quality of life.Safely transport residents to medical appointments, programs, and errands
Assist residents with boarding, seating, and mobility devices
Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and basic upkeep
Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and infection-control guidelines
Maintain accurate logs, schedules, and documentation
Communicate professionally with residents, families, and care teams
Coordinate routes and timing to ensure punctual service
Support residents with courteous, person-centered service
Report vehicle or safety issues promptly to supervisors
Uphold Hebrew SeniorLife’s mission, values, and service standards
Defensive driving
Passenger assistance and transfer techniques
Operation of wheelchair lifts and securement systems
Route planning and time management
Vehicle safety inspection and basic maintenance
Knowledge of traffic and safety regulations
Infection control and sanitization procedures
Documentation and trip logging
Customer service in healthcare or senior care
Communication with clinical and support teams
