School Bus Driver and Bus/Van Aide
School Bus/Van Driver
TERMS:
- Part Time position
- $25 per hour
- Not eligible for benefits
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Safely transport students to and from designated schools, programs, or activities using a district-owned, non-CDL vehicle.
- Adhere to all district, state, and federal transportation policies and safety regulations.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all passengers during transit.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks and report any maintenance or safety issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records as required (mileage, trip logs, student attendance during transport, etc.).
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid New Jersey drivers license with a clean driving record.
- Knowledge of and ability to comply with all student transportation safety practices.
- Reliable, responsible, and able to maintain professional conduct with students and staff.
- Completion of School Bus Driver and Aide Training for Interacting with Students with Special Needs.
- Criminal history background checks required. (CHR, CARI, and MVR as applicable)
School Bus/Van Aide
TERMS:
- Part Time position
- Hourly rate as per the District Aide Salary Guide
- Not eligible for benefits
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist students with special needs and mobility challenges when required
- Adhere to all district, state, and federal transportation policies and safety regulations.Ensure the safety and well-being of all passengers during transit.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, parents and school staff.
- Reliable, responsible, and able to maintain professional conduct with students and staff.
- Collaborate with the van driver to maintain and orderly and respectful environment on the van
- Must ensure the van is clean at all times
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrates competence, good work habits, and an excellent ability to develop relationships with administrators, students, parents and drivers
- Ability to maintain student behavior to ensure their safety, well-being, security, and protect against vandalism.
- Basic knowledge of computer applications and email.
- Ability to communicate and have command of the English language.
- Ability to physically remove students from emergency situations and be able to operate and secure wheelchairs, seat belts, harnesses and emergency equipment.
- Criminal history record check required
