Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to identify mental health concerns and develop tailored treatment plans focused on the individual needs of clients.
• Provide one-on-one therapy sessions using diverse evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness techniques.
• Work collaboratively with clients to establish therapeutic goals and consistently track their progress throughout the treatment process.
• Offer teletherapy services, ensuring accessibility for clients facing transportation issues or preferring remote support.
• Maintain meticulous documentation that adheres to legal, ethical, and regulatory standards, showcasing your commitment to professionalism in practice.
• Engage in ongoing professional development activities, such as attending workshops or webinars, to enhance clinical skills and remain current with best practices.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary client population served by New Horizon Counseling Services includes adults and adolescents dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, and other mental health challenges. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, you will work closely with diverse clients, tailoring your therapeutic approach to address their unique experiences and needs.

Qualifications

• A valid and current state license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).
• A Bachelor's degree in a related field is required, while a Master's or Doctorate in Social Work, Psychology, or Mental Health Counseling is preferred.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, allowing you to build and maintain trusting relationships with clients.
• A compassionate, empathetic approach to therapy, demonstrating a non-judgmental attitude toward clients' experiences.
• Strong organizational abilities and effective time-management skills to manage a diverse caseload efficiently.

Preferred Experience

A minimum of two years of experience in a mental health counseling role is preferred, providing you with a solid foundation in clinical practice and client engagement. Familiarity with telehealth practices is also beneficial, allowing for immediate adaptation to remote service delivery.
