Work Environment

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough individual treatment sessions with clients either in their homes or at our outpatient office, employing best practices to address emotional and behavioral challenges.
- Facilitate therapeutic support focused on anger management techniques, coping strategies, and social skills development, while actively working to reduce high-risk behaviors such as self-injury or aggression.
- Guide both adolescents and their families in enhancing decision-making skills, thereby effectively managing behavioral issues within the home environment.
- Collaborate with the Child Family Treatment Team, contributing to a multi-disciplinary approach that prioritizes a cohesive treatment plan for each adolescent.
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation, including client intake records, treatment plans, and progress notes, maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational standards.
- Participate in monthly team meetings, offering insights and recommendations to improve therapeutic strategies and service delivery.
Patient Population / Client Focus
This role specifically focuses on supporting children and adolescents aged 3-20, particularly those who are experiencing cognitive difficulties or developmental challenges. As a therapist, you will play a critical role in providing positive behavior support, implementing strategies that promote the emotional and psychological well-being of your clients.
Qualifications
- A Master's degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related field is required.
- An active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license is mandatory.
- Availability to work a minimum of 5-10 hours per week, particularly during after-school hours from 4-7 PM, with additional flexibility on weekends being a significant advantage.
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required to facilitate home visits.
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check, including fingerprinting.
Preferred Experience
- Experience providing positive behavior support and therapeutic interventions for children and adolescents, particularly those with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
- Familiarity with evidence-based practices in mental health therapy, especially those related to interventions for young people.
- Experience working collaboratively with families to achieve treatment goals.
Compensation and Benefits
