Description

As an ALS Paramedic – MS Transport at MedStar Health, you will deliver advanced life support care during 911 responses and interfacility transports across the Maryland–Washington, D.C. region. You will perform comprehensive patient assessments, administer medications, manage airways, monitor cardiac status, and provide trauma and medical interventions in dynamic field environments. Working within a patient-first, mission-driven culture, you will collaborate closely with EMTs, nurses, and physicians, ensure safe and timely transport, maintain detailed electronic documentation, and participate in ongoing training and quality improvement. Provide ALS-level assessment, stabilization, and treatment during 911 and interfacility transports.
Operate and manage ALS transport unit, ensuring vehicle, equipment, and medications are ready and safe.
Administer medications, perform airway management, cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, and other advanced procedures.
Communicate with dispatch, receiving facilities, and medical control to coordinate patient care and handoff.
Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in accordance with EMS and hospital standards.
Collaborate with EMTs, nurses, physicians, and other clinicians to deliver coordinated, patient-first care.
Participate in training, simulations, and quality improvement initiatives to maintain clinical excellence.
Educate patients and families on care, transport processes, and follow-up instructions as appropriate.
