POSITION SUMMARY: Transports inpatients and outpatients to and from their destinations safely within the hospital. Assists patients and patient care staff. Requirements MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: High School or equivalent required. CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: Basic Life Support (BLS) issued through American Heart Association required, or must be attained within two weeks of employment. SKILLS: Ability to learn to use the following: Wheelchairs Gurneys electric beds cell phones digital pagers Effective human relations skills Ability to retain composure under stress, to move quickly but effectively to meet patient care needs Time management skills to manage a high volume of assignments as expeditiously as possible EXPERIENCE: Prior related work experience in medical environment preferred.
